Wentworth Hunter Pace - June 6, 2021

After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time!  most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the

Costume Class Anyone?

So we only have three events left this year......and a lesson scheduled for a SATURDAY so I will not be stressed trying to get to a lesson during the week with my job and all.

Sept. 28 - The STB Nationals...in New Jersey!!!!!!!
October 4- Lesson with Judy - LONG overdue!
October 12 - Marshaling at Scarborough Downs for the Stakes Finals
October 19 - Last SMDA show....it is a ride-re-ride with Keith Angstadt.

I am beside myself with excitement over going to Jersey for the National Show! :)

And the Ride-Re-Ride should be fun. I entered Training 1 and 2, just for the heck of it. I wanted to be safe and do Intro B......but I KNOW we can do that. I rather have more opportunity to try the canter....and doing it this year will lessen the anxiety over doing it next spring. Judy keeps saying....First Level.....but THAT really stresses me out. LOL!

So, the Ride-Re-Ride also has a Halloween Costume Class. I have not done a costume class since I was 12 years old. I simply couldn't resist. ROFLMAO! I will probably be the only adult, but hey I am a kid at heart, right?

So now I am signed up for the class and I have no idea what the heck I am going to dress me and the Dream Girl up in! LOL! I need help oh loyal readers! Think Halloween! Think outstanding! :) I wanna WIN man!

this picture from Fugly Horse of the Day has to be one of my favorite costumes. :)

Did you enter your National classes yet? I thought I saw on the prize list that you couldn't cross enter between Intro and Training and thought about you, I know you and Dreamy have been doing those two tests all year.

Hoping this didn't post twice, as Blogger gave me trouble the first time. ;P

  2. Oh good grief, that is the funniest costume I have EVER seen! LOL! The horse looks really impressed....ha ha ha. I wonder how she made that!?

At Nationals I am entered in Training 1 and 2. For my Ride-Re-Ride in October I also signed up for Training 1 and 2. I did not want to move up at "Nationals" but hey, they are pretty much the same test anyway. The worst part though is that I am riding a friend's STB in his first ever dressage test at Intro A....so I need to remember 3 tests in one day! I have done it before, but MAN it stinks! I almost want a reader....though I have never done that! :)

I wish I could meet you and Will on Sunday.....maybe you can make it over even if it is horseless???????

  3. My guess: A full-body Sleezy, glue, and a thousand cotton balls.

There really isn't much difference between T1 and T2.. I actually like T2 better because there are more changes of direction, which means more opportunities to half-halt. And less opportunity to take a backseat, if you're like me. ;)

I originally thought I'd be going out of state this weekend but I'll most likely be around the Horse Park in one capacity or another, so I'll see you guys there!
