Blue Ribbon Weekend

I spent the weekend of Oct. 10 and 11, 2009 winning blue ribbons. LOL!

On Saturday, Oct. 10, I trucked Dreamy to the Ever After Mustang Benefit horse show at Hollis Equestrian Park. We had a fun day doing five classes...Adult Pleasure, Open Pleasure, Adult Equitation, Open Command, and Hunter over Fences. We won all five of our classes! :) It was a dreary day and the ring footing was bad, but Dreamy was on auto-pilot, much like she was at the Downeast Congress. :)

Then we were off to Hilltop Equestrian Center in Somersworth, NH on Sunday, October 11 for another Modified Beginner Novice event. (The only difference between Modified Beg, Novice and regular Beg. Novice is that the jumps are 4" shorter. That helps when your mare is 18 years old.) :)

We won our division of four people! We got a 29.5 on our dressage test, which is VERY VERY VERY good, comparable to a 70.5% on a regular dressage test! And I would say that Beginner Novice Test A (which is the one we rode...) is comparable to Training test 2. So I was SUPER HAPPY! We had six 8's, eight 7's, and five 6's. I was very proud to get 7's and 6's on our canters and an EIGHT ON RIDER SCORE! WHOO HOO! Dreamy was truly balanced, relaxed, and rhythmic. It was amazing!

We went clean both on cross country and stadium jumping. It was windy and chilly, so she was a little spooky, and our stadium was a little wild. LOL! Oh well. She was a good mare. What a way to end our season! I asked the father of the young rider parked next to me take my pic. :)

On a funny side note, we went to Fryeburg Fair on Saturday night. It is known as Maine's "Blue Ribbon Fair" which is quite fitting after the weekend of blue ribbons I had! LOL!
