Wentworth Hunter Pace - June 6, 2021

After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time!  most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the

Day 18: In my bag

I thought of writing about my purse or school bag, but I am trying to keep this horse themed, so here goes.  :-)

I love this bag from Smartpak.  I use it a lot when I travel to overnight horse shows and it worked great on my two horsey trips to Acadia National Park.  In the past few months,  I bought another one to tote my helmet in its case, riding boots in their bag, grooming tote, and saddle pad for Snappy.  (I have another bag for my RUS saddle, girth, reins, crupper, and buxton.)  Because Snappy is stabled at Cumberland Fairgrounds, an hour from my house, I just tote my all tack back and forth.  This bag is awesome!  It is roomy and well made.  And of course, I love the Smart Pink color!  (Smartpak donates the proceeds to breast cancer research and to my delight, it is towards the Avon Foundation, not the Komen folks who I do NOT support.  I called and asked a while back. ;-)

If you are looking for a great tote bag, check this out!
