Wentworth Hunter Pace - June 6, 2021

After Margaret and I had such a fun time at the fall hunter pace, we opted to go again this spring! This time, while I rode Rejoice again, Margaret rode her horse Jester and had a friend ride Ladyhawke. All Kennebec Morgans!! Jester and Rejoice have the same dam and Jester and Lady share the same sire. Unfortunately instead of a lovely late spring day, we had one of the first intensely hot and humid days of the year. It was definitely a bummer, but the ride was mostly in the shade of the woods and we had a great time!  most of the fences were 3' coops but we found a small log and this hay to jump haha Until we didn't. 😑 We brought along a third friend who rode Margaret's older mare, Ladyhawke. She's a good rider but hasn't known Ladyhawke for very long and didn't realize how much of a cranky boss mare she could be at times. She kicked Jester right in the front leg just about halfway through the ride, and while the cut itself ended up not being a big deal in the

Yorkfield Farm Fox Hunt

Dreamy and I went to Yorkfield Farm in Kensington, NH on November 17, 2012 for our fifth hunt of the season.  It was another gorgeous day!  We have really lucked out on our hunting weather this year.  Yorkfield Farm is beautiful, as is the surrounding land, and it boasts a true nine acre polo field!  :-O  We had a great day galloping and jumping through the countryside, as usual!

Hacking along the road to get to the next field...we are fifth back.

Before a run...fifth from front, fourth from back!

Whee!!!  We are back there somewhere in the middle!

There was A LOT of galloping at this hunt!  It was fast and fun!!  I think we are last in this photo.

Catching our breath at a check.

At a check at the end of a campground area, near a pond.

Relaxing at the check.  I love that she has figured out to just relax at the checks and not stay wound up!
Dreamy is probably in the best shape she has ever been in!

Talking with Joshua and his owner :-)
I'm not in this pic, but I wanted to show the awesome runs we had between the trees at the Christmas tree farm!  SO FUN!!!!
Can you see the hunt all the way up on the left?  This was super nice galloping!

  1. So she goes-and-goes...and then she rests at the checks...and then she goes again?

Sounds like an endurance horse to me!

What beautiful ground you covered, hooray for all y'all.
